I have a LOT of Who to catch up on!!! Beginning with the Lifehouse Chronicles!!! Listening to a lot now! It has a lot of Scoop 1, 2, and 3 feel. But seriously listening to what ultimately became most of Who’s Next, talk about an alternate WHOniverse!!!!
Looks like a winner, Tim. Quadrophenia was one of the most played LPs in my collection in high school, and my head was flooded with memories as I read your review. I so identified with the album's protagonist, Jimmy. He was the perfect combination of working-class mod and heroic fuckup, one that many teenage boys in the 70's could align themselves with. I'm gonna go home tonight and drop the needle onto side 3 for a refresher. Who knows, maybe I'll even go for the box set.
